Is grated gola same as desiccated coconut that we get in market?

No, desiccated coconut available in the market is not the same as grating gola at home. 

Most manufacturers selling desiccated coconut use low-quality coconuts and extract the oil from it before packaging. Hence, we don't get the same taste and freshness in the packaged desiccated coconut. 

However, in times of emergency or any specific need, we can use the packaged one. But, for regular consumption, it is best to grate gola or fresh coconut at home.
