I exercise in the late evening hours. How can I manage to have my dinner by 7 PM?

There are a couple of solutions you can try :

  1. Shift your exercise to the morning. Exercise is best done in the morning, as ideally, the evening is time for rest and restoration, and it is not ideal to put the body through a rigorous workout when it is preparing to sleep.
  2. If it's not possible to shift exercise to the morning, you may have your dinner at your convenient time, but ensure that it is a light, easy-to-digest meal.

Here are some options for a light dinner :

If eating a late dinner, avoid grains like rice, roti, wheat, millet, pulses and legumes. This is because grains are much harder to digest, in comparison to vegetables. Having a light dinner will ensure that it gets digested fast and the body gets more hours for cleaning, healing and repair. So by having a light, non-grain, easy to digest dinner, you can gain similar benefits as eating early.

In the Satvic food book 1 and 2, there are many recipes given for soups and salads. You can order the book 1 here: https://satvicmovement.org/products/satvic-food-book-2

Please note: If you do intense rigorous exercise, and feel that eating only vegetables for dinner is not sufficient for you, and you feel the need for more nourishment, feel free to include plant-based sources of protein, such as sprouted lentils, daals, chickpeas, nuts and seeds to your dinner.
