What are the plant based protein alternatives for growing children?
Children need sufficient protein in their diet, as their height is growing.
There are many plant-based sources of protein such as :
- Sprouts of different legumes (of moong, masoor, matki, chickpeas). A great option is to have a sprout salad in the mornings.
- Cooked lentils/daals along with meals
- Soaked nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews, walnuts, etc) in the morning and evening as snack
- Seeds (chia, sunflower, melon, quinoa) sprinkled on top of salads and smoothies
- High protein vegetables such as broccoli, green peas and spinach
